Really enjoyed the seven books of this series. Fast paced and easy to follow. It not care for some of the made up names trying to figure out how to pronounce to keep them straight. Now the bad part. The ending chapter was the most disappointing I have come across in a while. It was like the author couldn’t wait to wrap it up and made it as brief as possible leaving the reader with very little clouser.Product details

We have reached the conclusion of the adventures of Mitchell , Katharine , Origin and the rest of the crew in their war against Watson and the Tetrons. It was a worthy final chapter to an incredible way to handle time travel and manipulation of the time line. Very well done.
No spoilers - but I was surprised by the ending.
The battle against Watson escalates throughout the book. The concept of multiple recursions in time as used in this series is fascinating. It's like calling "do-over" on the playground when you were a kid but on an incredibly massive scale. Keep plugging away at it until you get it right. I'm just not sure I liked the ending...
First it's easy. Things are going according to plan. Then we discover that things aren't as they used to be. The plan isn't working. We bring in reinforcements. We win then we lose. Then we win. Then we lose. We find the real Watson. We attack. It's not enough. We persist. It's not enough. We're down to Mitchell against Watson. Is Mitchell enough? It looks as if it is, but then we get this hokey ending. The war is won. Everyone is alive. Was it all a bad dream?
Whew! I finally finished this series. Kept me on the edge of my seat every moment and up way too late at night turning pages. Well done Mr. Forbes. I look forward with great anticipation to reading your next story. Thank you!
WOW! And I MEAN WOW! What can I say? This book is an outstanding end to the series, a series that kept me on the edge of my seat for all seven books. I could not put any of the books down. If I could give this book more than five stars, I would. Each book in the series built upon the one that came before, culiminating in The Edge of Infinity. I kept yelling at each book (as if they could answer me back), saying NOOOOO! You can't stop there! Thank goodness Mr. Forbes gave us an ending that is worthy of all seven books. If you haven't read this author before, you're missing out! Haven't found one book yet I was even disappointed in. All I can say is WOW!
I enjoyed this series quite a bit, if book 7 is the last. The time recursion aspect was interesting and quite unique. From a machine's "point of view", the eternal engine should've provided all possible out comes for any possible scenario but not so, apparently due to humans somewhat illogical decision-making processes at times(?) I guess. For physics fans, just toss the "string theory" out the windows for awhile but I don't want to spoil the series for other fans so I won't say anymore. The writing has certainly improved after the initial trilogy. As the series grew, I noticed less and less spelling, repeat words and grammatical errors. Good work M.R.!
I read this whole series with much interest and enjoyment. It is entertainment with a smattering of science and a lot of grand space opera. I thought the series was actually one book too long which made the ending a bit of a let down because I felt I should have 'got there' many words sooner. Issues resolved or changed in the last book could have been dealt with earlier. Having said that it all makes a grand read, great characters with MR Forbes personal slant on people shining through (one I really enjoy). I've read several series by MR Forbes and have enjoyed them all - even the witchy/warlocky ones which really aren't my interest. For great entertainment don't go past MR Forbes
